In September 2015, a farm walk was organised by The Simmental Society, SAC Consulting & hosted by our clients Bob & Jim Cook, with their pedigree Simmentals. A discussion on ‘Key Performance Indicators for a successful suckler herd and acheiving good health status with an emphasis on BVD & Johnes diseases’. George Caldow (BVM & S, MSc, Cert CHP Dip ECBHM MRCVS FRAgS), Veterinary Manager of the SAC’s Premium Cattle Health Scheme & Ian Pritchard (BSc Agri Hons Animal Science), Health Scheme Manager attended & gave presentations. A farm walk was conducted around the pedigree Simmental herd followed by light refreshments on the farm on Golden Cap, an outstanding area of natural beauty, with kind permission of National Trust.
Another farm walk will be happening this year, on Saturday 3rd September 2016, at the same location with the same herd. Contact Mimi Machin at Bredy Vets on 01308 456771 if you are interested in attending.
